Tidy Garden, Tidy Mind...Or Not.

I finally snapped, I couldnt take a minuet more! If I had to spend another bloody Saturday staring at the garden in such a mess I would go mad, so most of last Saturday was taken up with clearing, cleaning, re-potting and planting more seeds. 4 back breaking hours later and its starting to rather nice...

Ok its not Kew Gardens, more like Steptoes Yard but still I'm rather pleased with it. Most of the pots have flowers in mixed together with the herbs, hopefully the bees will appreacate it! I cant wait for some warm weather and a little sunshine.

Arrr it actually looks vaguely normal now!

We also managed to finally get some wood for the first of the raised beds, we nipped over to Bristol to these guys, who where very nice and helpful, if you are in the area and haven't been to check them out yet do! They have a brilliant stock pile of second hand wood, furniture, doors and loads of other stuff. They even have old scaffolding planks at £12 each, so we got 6 to make the first of the beds out off...

We've got them in the tiny yard at the back of the kitchen, we just need to wait for Rich to have a free day (and fingers crossed this will coincide with a dry day, what are the chances!!) so he can knock the bed together for me.
While we where loading the planks on to the Landy, Rich came up with the rather brilliant idea of possible using scaffolding planks as floor boards in the living room. I have been trying to source some reasonably priced floor boards and have discover that hens teeth have nothing on nice boards, bloody everyone wants them!!
We also spotted some rather lovely victorian pitch pine 4 panel doors, which with a little tweaking would fit our frames fine, I've got them reserved and hopefully we'll get chance to go back and get them in a few days, so not a bad weekend, I cant quite believe how much we packed in. More pics soon!

I know the feeling! I looked out of the window onto a total scruffy mudpit yesterday morning and had to get out and do a few bits. I gave up after an hour though as it was throwing it down solidly and I was soaked, but I still managed to get the paths swept and cleaned and picked up all the garden paraphenalia that had been slung around by high winds.

I've never known the garden so saturated and muddy.
