We have a cast iron singer sewing stand which we've had for years (we found it in the shed of our student house back when everyone though these where junk!), my Mum donated another one which was from my granddads workshop so we had a good heavy duty base to make the table on. As we are quite exposed on the side of our hill anything that is going to live outdoors need to be pretty heavy or the autumn winds will relocate it to the neighbours garden!
I also decided to move my 4 belfast sinks to under the front window, I am planning to use these to grown salad leaves.
This little revamp took about 2 days and we where determined not to spend any money, everything we used we already had. I may add a few more plants from the carboot sales but we have so much stuff knocking around its always good to try to find a use for it before buying more! Now all I need to do is sort out a BBQ area.
