So yesterday Richard and I decided to go into town and look for a suit for him (borrring!) unfortunately we got side tracked as usual and ended up mooching around one of my favourite shops in Bath, Rolfeys! Many, many of the weird and wonderful things in our house came from Rolfeys over the years, which is the coolest house clearance shop ever! Its rare for us to come away empty handed, so yesterday we were looking round when I spotted this chap... Incase you haven't noticed I have a thing about taxidermy, I have collect butterflies and moths for years but I have always wanted a bird, specifically a parrot and particular one in a dome! So Rich spotted me squealing over this lovely little guy (instantly christened 'Captain Pinky') and after some umming and arring he wandered off to find Rolfey and did a little wheeling and dealing and managed to secure Pinky and a new butterfly!! I would like to point out that Rich doesn't go round buying me extravagant stuffed creatures all the time, this was a huge expense and very, very generous of him to spend money on me when he never spends it on himself. Getting Captain Pinky home was...interesting, it involved the dome being packed in a box in the back of the car and me actually having to hold the parrot in my lap as Rich drove, I got some very weird looks. Plus I was totally paranoid that I would break a wing off by accident. They now look amazing in our living room and I can't stop smiling when I look at them, ok I know this isn't everyones cup of tea but I LOVE my new parrot and butterfly! Thank you Rich, Captain Pinky is a perfect anniversary/christmas/birthday present!

I love Captain Pinky!! You were very lucky to get him and the butterfly. I saw a framed butterfly at a local charity shop for £2 but my daughter wouldn't let me buy it when she found out it was real. May have to go back and sneakily buy it when she's not with me! xx
