New Lamp & An 8-Track

Its been a busy few weeks here, we are both snowed under with work which isn't a bad thing as we need to scrap the pennies up for the Shepard's Hut plan next year, it does mean not much more has progressed with the house though. We did how ever find time to unearth a few new editions, the first being a new stereo system...

Well new to us at least, Rich brought this very old 8-track player at a car-boot last year, for those of you who don't know what an 8-track is (I didn't, too young!) its the fore-runner to cassette tapes. So with a length of speaker wire, two old car speakers which are now hidden behind furniture and a lead to plug the ipad into its is now our retro new stereo! Pretty nifty for £4 and looks great on the G-plan sideboard!

I picked up this 60s danish lamp base back in August, it was reduced and reduced down to £12 which I was chuffed about, its been given a sand and a wax to freshen it. On Sunday I when with some friends to the Green Park Station Vintage and Antiques Market in Bath, there was some lovely stuff, much of it out of my price range but I did get this cool original 60's spin fibreglass shade for £20 which I thing suits the lamp really well.

My last find was a new chair for the kitchen, we've had problems with chairs in there was its quite a small table and anything with a back looks to big, this little chair though matches the two stools we already have and was just too cute to pass up...

This has also been sanded and waxed as it was pretty grubby (forgot to take a before shot!), we think its an old stackable school chairs, definitely 50s/60s. Weirdly the red vinyl pretty much matches the red in my table cloth meaning I'll probably keep it rather then recover it. We managed to get this for £10 down from £15  so again super chuffed and wow is it comfortable to sit in!

So thats it for now, no major changes and Im trying to keep a lid of the stuff I buy as I've gotten rid of loads of stuff form the olds house that we had hung on to. It is very hard when I keep find lovely treasures though!
