Spring is springing which means work on the garden has recommenced, Rich had some time between jobs and made a start a few weeks ago on building the small wall we needed at the back of the shed to help terrace the lawn. We had quite a lot of old chunks of bath stone lying around in the garden and one of our lovely neighbours donated the remnates of an old wall... The wall took about 10 days on and off, he topped the wall with some slabs that we got a few years ago. We then back filled behind the wall with the soil we dug out, this has leveled the lawn out a bit. Once the wall was done and looking smart Rich decided to level the area infront of the shed door and pave it. As we had so many of the old hand made bricks left from building the shed base last year we decided to herringbone this little area (so no 'during' photos as we where so busy I forgot!). Rich even added my little star brick (of which I only have one!!). I decided to add another willow fence behind the new wall (just a little one!), the one I did last year came out so well that I couldnt reisist doing another. As every the willow was supplied by the excellent chaps at Victoriana Nurserys along with a whole load of wild & bee friendly flower seeds which have been scattered on the fresh soil. This little brown stone sink has been following us around for 16 years so im determind to finally plant it and use! Im so happy with how this all came out, its been busy and tiring but so worth it. I cant wait for the wild flowers to start coming up! Yay Spring!!
