Are We Feeling Christmassy Yet?

Well I should hope so, it is only 4 days away!

So what have we been doing? Well a huge number of things actually , most of which are all terrible boring, things like tax returns, mending broken taps, illustration jobs, filling orders from my shops...we also squeezed in a little sleep now and again.

We finally got round to buying our tree (even though I was convinced all the good ones would be gone!), brought from our local greengrocers last weekend.

Naked tree...

Fully clothed tree!

Please ignore the weird carpet arrangement going on here, we ripped half of it up when we did the fireplace and this tiny patch at the bottom of the stairs escaped! I really wish I'd pulled it up before putting the decorations on the tree!

I adore out vintage bauble collection, I so love getting them out each year, cleaning them and arranging them on the tree.

Last year I made 2 strings of these cream and faded red hearts from an old tea towel I brought at a car-boot sale for 10p. Its sooo soft because its be endlessly washed, I love the way these turned out (I may rebel and leave them up for the rest of the year!), they just look great next to the flaky paint of the mantel peaice.

I would love to show you some of the truly brilliant bargains I have managed to find lately but sadly they are all prezzys so must remain wrapped in a vale of secrecy ( although I may get some snaps as they come out of the wrapping paper) but a couple of purchases that are for me are ok though.

Firstly this book which I have been lusting after for ages as I am a huge fan of this lovely ladys blog (hell who isnt!)

I had some book tokens so I treated myself. I have total home envy reading this book, one day my house will look this amazing (and not have bits of random horrid carpet leaping out at you), if you love been nosy about other peoples houses get this book!

My second selfish purchase makes me feel very grow up, it would be my BRAND NEW Sony Ericsson Mix Walkman!

Why am I so excited about a new phone, well because this is the very first brand new phone I have ever brought! Yep got my first phone given to me by Barclays bank for starting up a student account with them at age 18 and ever since I have had old cast off 'pay as you go's' or my mates cheap second hand phones which I have used until they self-destructed. Sad isn't it, Rich finally convinced me that it was ok to spend more that £20 on phone as he would like to be able to find out where I am occasionally.

Father Christmas is going to mighty pissed if he's already got me a book and a phone!

Merry Christmas chaps!!
