Christmas At Home

As usual December seems to have shot past in no time, Rich and I have both been busy with books to illustrate, craft markets to do and doing overtime whenever possible! We had decided to stay at home for Christmas this year due to work, it has been lovely to spend time in our snug little cottage just relaxing and cosy infront of the log burner!

I didn't get many pics of Christmas Day as I always forget in the frenzy of presents and watching Rich cook the dinner..

We did get to eat of our new dinning table in the kitchen which was a novelty as its normally balancing plates on our knees in the living room as the kitchen has always been a work in progress up until now!

We also got lots of lovely visits from our families, we were also lucky enough to get some really cool presents which I am going to unashamedly show off now...

I got Rich this excellent print from the Rostra Gallery in Bath, the cat on the mid-century chairs reminded me of Stella!

I got Sorel walking boots from Rich, warmest boots ever!!!

The Lucienne Day book I have been wanted for ages from my Mum.
Picture
Ursa Minor the Bear from the David Weeks collection of wooden toys from Rich's parents, Rich got me Simus the Rhino last year so now we are luckly enough to have two!
Picture
And a Mark Hearld cushion from my favourite shop in Bath, Shannon. Must try to stop Stella using it as a bed!

We got lots of other lovely things too but I think thats enough for now, we have been very lucky this year, thank you to all our family and friends for being so thoughtful!!

I cant believe that 2014 is almost over already, as usual we have lots planned for the coming year so there will be plenty more to write about. In the mean time, I hope you all enjoyed your Christmases and have a good New Year, see you all in 2015! xx

Bye Bye November...

Where did November go? I only turned my back for 2 seconds and suddenly is December?! We both spent most of Nov working like crazy, I've had lots of terribly well organised people ordering christmas stock from my shop and Rich has started another book, we did managed to get a bit of time together this weekend by popping over to Clevedon on the North Somerset coast. As it was sunny after some much grey weather we did the coastal path walk along the estuary ending up at Clevedon pier.

The weather was just stunning, I love Clevedon Pier and never get tired of visiting it.

On sunday we managed to find some time to go get our Christmas tree finally, we had reused the same tree for 3 years running but sadly it decided to go bald this year meaning we had to buy a new one.

I LOVE getting the Christmas decorations out, unpacking all our vintage baubles is always fun!

We don't really go in for subtlety at Christmas, the sparkler the better!

Rich was very happy that this year all the pound shops have started selling these foil streamers again, we tried everywhere last year to get some, they are his favourite decorations (but don't tell his petrol head mates!).
Picture
My contribution to the Christmas stuff pile this year was this cool wooden reindeer by Gisela Graham (they always make lovely stuff!) at bargin at £12!

So anyone else got their decorations up yet?
