We where out and about the other day when we came across this cut old pine plate rack, I'm going to paint in cream, it will look wonderful when we come to re-vamp the kitchen. So much to do and we've only been here 2 weeks!
Its taken about a week, but I think we actually have the house almost straight now (although opening the cupboard under the stairs means risking being buried under an avalanche of stuff!). The house is freezing, I hadn't realised quite how efficient the condensing boiler was at our last cottage or our log burner for that matter, this is first on the list of jobs for this coming spring, I really cant do another winter without a log burner or I will die of hypothermia! The cottage does now feel more like home, I have our familiar things up and round us, my butterfly collection, our old school clock ticking on the wall. I love that we have a slightly bigger kitchen now, big enough to get our little table in. Sitting down for breakfast feels like such a luxury, more of luxury however would be a working cooker! Yes not 48 hours after moving in the old electric cooker that we paid £50 for packed up, well not so much packed up and decided to trip the electrics out every time we turned it on. Brilliant £50 well spent! I think Father Christmas may have to come a little early this year, I would really like a gas cooker (I've had electric cookers before and have never really got on with them) a small range style one would be wonderful, we'll have to see what we can run too!

So here we finally are, after months of fighting hard to get here, a mind boggling amount of paper work and a lot of phone calls to our wonderful Solicitor we finally have our house! We officially moved in on the 19th of November 2010, a day of fine clear weather and total madness! For anyone who read our previous blog Shoestring Garden you will know that we only actually moved 2 doors over (about 100 yards!!) which in a sense made things slightly easier, we where very lucky to have the help of friends, family and neighbours which was amazing or we would still be moving stuff now. Here are a few pics from the day of the move, I didn't get chance to take may as it was so hectic and at some point I put the camera down and it had boxes of stuff piled on it, meaning I couldn't find it for 2 days! I dont want to move house again for a VERY long time, I think it will take a while for Rich and I to get over the trauma of the last 3 months! So if you are new to this blog or read our other blog or are related to us, then welcome to the new site, which if its anything like the last blog will contain lots of pic and moaning.....aren't you glad you found us!!
