...Well it has here in the West Country, although I may be speaking too soon, its forcast to go cold over the weekend!

Apologise for the lack of posts this month, basically Rich and I have had an endless stream of illusrations jobs (not that I'm complaining!) then when I did get time to update the blog it wouldn't upload any of my pictures, grrr! Touch wood it all seems to be work now, so lets get on with it.

A great many jobs have been started over the last few week, however we are yet to actually finish anything. I started this off with painting the christmas chicken coop, originaly it was stained a horrid orange colour and me being a girl I wanted it to look a bit pretty...

It is now this gorgeuos gray green colour with I think looks much better! Unfortunally its all still in pieces as we haven't finished the base it will stand on, so this will be an on going project! More pics when we make more progress!

As the weather has been so delicious lastly I have got quite a few things planted out at long last. I ordered quite a lot of stuff from Victoriana Nurseys as usual, including a beautiful Bramley Apple, a Sparten Apple, half a dozen Cherry Plums, 4 Cobnuts and a Sloe! ...Well its a big garden, its going to take a lot of plants to fill it!

All down one side of the garden is a 5 foot Hawthorn hedge that been there years, its rather nice (if a little spiky) and gives us some privacy but its not terrible diverse, its also not providing us with much. So in order to thicken the hedge out and give us some crops, I have interspersed the Cobnuts and Cherry Plums along it. Its a bit hard to see from the pic above (why don't hedges photo well? it always comes out as a mass of green?) This is a job I've been aching to get done, I'm glad to say that all the new plants seem to be budding well!

Last weekend I got some more flowers planted out, I can't bare a garden without flowers plus they really soften the front of the house.

I love this time of year, if you look around you can pick up some total bargains. The Irises and the Lupins above where £1 each from Poundland and the Pansies where just over £2 for 16 plants from Aldi! The plant in the black pot is a type of Purple Cornflower donated by Rich's Mum from her cottage garden (so free, even better!)
Picture
The Gooseberry was another Poundland bargain along with the Blueberry which I picked up at a car boot sale for £3 (and another black bag of Foxgloves from Rich's Mum!)

Yep it defiantly feels very Springy around here right now, next job...build the raised beds!!
