Clevedon and A Painted Bedroom

We decided to take a little break from the great bathroom project over half term, partly this was caused by a very heavy set of pliers being dropped totally by accident so in no way anyones fault, into the brand new bathtub...yes very upsetting for all concerned but these things happen. After taking a massive chip out of the enamel we looked into companies that come and patch this sort of thing up, only to discover that the cost of the repair was actually twice the price of  a new bath, so the sink had to come out again and the two week old tub removed and a new unchipped one put back in its place...what fun!

So after all this hassle we decided a week off might actually be rather a good idea. Rich had organised a trip up to Scotland with his dad to collect a load of car parts for his Cortina, so I took to opportunity to invite my Mum down to Bath for the week. I didn't totally get away from the house jobs as Mum and I decided to finally paint mine and Rich's bedroom, something we've been meaning to do for two years!

Poor Mum! This what happens to everyone who comes to visit us, they usually get roped into doing something on the house! The bedroom was the original magnolia colour (yuck!) that the whole house was painted in when we brought it, we have always meant to get round to sorting it out but inevitably it ended up becoming a dumping ground of all sort of stuff, clothes, tools even a ladder for a while. Now it looks beautiful...

Slightly grainy pics as this room doesn't get the sun in the afternoon but being painted pure white has made a huge difference, it now feels all lovely and fresh. It is actually quite a small room, one day when we have built the garden workshop we'll move into the front bedroom (currently the office) which is bigger, still this has at least made this room lovely and cosy for now.

After we finished all this painting we even managed to fit in a day out to the coast with my sister...

We went to lovely Clevedon which is only about 15 minuets from where my sister lives in Bristol, nice to have somewhere so pretty right on your doorstep.

I think we managed to go about 20 minuets without having to stop for a coffee.

After nourishments a little stroll on the pier.

All along the length of the pier are thousands of these little brass plaques which say all sort of things, heres a few that I liked...

A great way to spend a sunny day after 3 days of painting!
