Adding That Christmas Sparkle...

Phew another busy few weeks, I've been run off my feet with Christmas craft fairs and filling on-line orders and Rich has spend a manic few weeks painting background scenery for a commercial! Anyway, finally we got round to putting the christmas decorations up (yay!). We picked up our little tree Sunday from a small nursery up the road, got it home and potted up, Rich put the brand new lights on it, went to switch them on and...nothing! Thanks a lot B&Q!
It was of course to late in the day to drive the 10 miles back to Chippenham so we had to wait to decorate the tree till Monday when Rich had a chance to return them (and receive an very nice lecture about remembering to keep receipts!) and get replacements. So finally, finally the festive season had landed at our little cottage...

I've been waiting since summer to put this little spinning nativity scene up, I found it at a car boot sale for an outrageously good 50p! It is however missing some key figures so Rich and I might remove the rest and replacement with with little wooden deer or something. Its cute anyhow and I love it on the mantelpiece.

Amazingly this is one of the few pictures where Stella isn't lying full length in front of the stove. The temperature has really dropped in the South West, the log burner has been on for about 4 days solid now. It just adds to the Christmassyness!
